I started playing Tomodachi Life, the Mii sim from the 3DS, again. I love the game’s wacky humor and neat things you can do. And I started to think: what if Nintendo did a sequel for the Nintendo Switch? What would Tomodachi Life be like on Switch? Here are some ideas from me! Tomodachi Life is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 189. Rated 5 out of 5 by Erika Bond from Hands down my favorite game! I've had this game for years and it never fails to entertain me! I love this game so much that I recommend it to everyone. I mean you never run out of things to do!
UPDATE: Holy cow! Thanks for the feature!
Tomodachi Life is my favorite game for the 3DS. So today I'm going to post what I would love to see in a potential Tomodachi Life sequel. So let's get into it!

Graphics
Let's assume Nintendo is making the sequel for the Nintendo Switch. Of course the game is going need a serious graphical overhaul making the leap from the 3DS to Switch. While the game already looked nice on said system, can you imagine how the Tomodachi Life experience would look beautifully restored in glorious HD graphics running at 60fps? The game could very well be one of the best-looking Mii games ever made! Also, this is relatively minor, but the Miis could also use more facial expressions. Look at Miitomo and the latest Mii game, Miitopia. The Miis are far more prone to making funny faces that couldn't normally make in other games beforehand and shows what happens when the developers push the Mii art style to its absolute limit! So hopefully we get more of this in the next game!
I'd also like better Mii voices that sound a bit less overly monotonous and robotic.
New Areas
Along with the existing areas, there should also be new areas. Have you noticed how some locations in Tomodachi Life are shown in some cutscenes, but never accessible? For example, the fancy restaurant, the classroom (not counting the interior), and the train station. These could make some nice accessible places for Miis to go to or hang out at. I'd also love it if some of these places could be explored a bit further and have events of their own, which will be explained later. There should also be more you can do at Concert Hall, as explained in the next section! I also think Job Diagnosis from the first game should return.
New Activities
For the next game, there should also be new activities to do in the existing locations as well as some changes to the old ones. Here's my ideas for new activities in each area:
Beach: keep Judgement Bay (only works in undocked mode); add new beach-themed activities like volleyball, building sandcastles, and swimming!
Fountain: keep Morning Market, Donations, and Rap Battle/Word Chain events intact; add a new event where you can toss a coin into the fountain to make a random wish.
Amusement Park: add new magic tricks for the Magic Show; keep the Mystery Bag event; new Tomodachi Quest-type game that's a bit more unique and in depth; new event where you can build your own amusement park rides and watch your Miis ride it while you take pictures!
Café: keep the Boys/Girls Hangouts, but change the dialogue and make it more unique to Miis and their personalities so they won't repeat the same dialogue too much; a new mini-game where you can take a part time job serving food to your Miis.
Park: bring back the Flying Disc and Afternoon Market events; tweak the BBQ event or change it to something different, but similar like a picnic; remove Photo Shoot event since the Switch doesn't have an actual camera like the 3DS; a new event where you can ride a bike or jog the track.
Concert Hall: along with the song genres from the actual game, there should be some new song genres, like Reggae, Country, Jazz, Blues, etc. Plus, a brand new, fun event: plays and stage shows! Wouldn't it be hilarious if you could cast your Miis in classic-style plays and put them in strange/funny roles?
Outside of the common areas, you know what would be really awesome? ACTUAL HOLIDAYS! Yes, you can get holiday-themed items, interiors, and the shops are decorated, but don't you ever wish you could actually celebrate holidays on your island with your Miis? Like trick-or-treating for candy in October? Enjoying a Thanksgiving feast with them? Opening presents on Christmas Day? Firing fireworks on the 4th of July? And other countries can celebrate their respective holidays in their region. There's so much you can do with the holidays!
New Items & Collectibles
Of course, the next game should have new stuff to collect such as new foods, clothes, hats, treasures, and level-up gifts, too. For instance, instead of giving your Miis a Wii U when they level up, you can give them, you guessed it, a Nintendo Switch!
Also, in regards to clothing, the game can also come with amiibo support, which can allow you to get costumes based on popular Nintendo characters like Mario. Plus, these can be sent to other players via Local Wireless connection. In fact, this game should also have more Nintendo-themed items, treasures, and accessories like getting a Super Mushroom hat or Tri-force earrings instead of just generic items!
In addition to the Food Mart, Interiors, Clothing, and Hats Shops, there should be a new shop: the Furniture Shop, where you can buy new furniture like chairs and tables for your Miis' apartments, which they can also interact with.
There should also be a shop where you can get a face-painting kit for your Miis to use, and you can paint their faces however you'd like! Or it could be a collectible treasure, replacing the Hair-color spray from Tomodachi Life since Miis can already have different hair colors on the Switch. It would make Mii customization even better!
New Weirdness
And what's a Mii game without a staple aspect: weirdness! I want the Miis to say funnier and weirder stuff and have weirder dreams, like maybe a dream that spoofs Rapunzel or something! I can't say I have many ideas here. It's all up to how crazy the developers go with it!
Gameplay Mechanics
Finally, the game mechanics need some tweaking to fit the Switch and enhance the game. For example, since the Switch eschews StreetPass, their should be a new way to send off travelers to other islands, either via Local Wireless or online connection somehow. Plus, some new mini-games to fit the Switch hardware since it lacks the touchscreen for the most part.
In regards to improving replayability, like I said earlier, some events and dialogue need to be varied up more. Also, there should be better awards when you help Miis out with problems. It gets tiring when you almost always get useless gifts you don't even need like the medicines.
This is controversial, but some people also seem to want gay marriage in the next game. I'll be fine with it as long as it's optional.
Add a pronunciation system for anything that involves typing text.
Tone down the number of fights that hapen each day. The fights are funny at first, but as time goes on it gets very tiring seeing 1-3 pairs of Miis fighting every time you turn on the game, doesn't it? It happens so much that you wind up not caring who gets into a fight anymore unless it's one of your OTPs.
Add a new feature in the Mii Maker that allows you to set a family relationship between other Miis besides your own. Don't you hate the fact that your canon siblings can fall in love with and get married to their own brother or sister? Nasty!
There should also be better control for relationships if there's a pairing or friendship you're not happy with. But not too overpowered since it would ruin the concept of the game.
There should also be personality quirks in this game so Miis with a specific personality can say or do something different based on that personality, similar to Miitopia.
And about children, there should be an option to allow twins/triplets. And, to make use of the classroom, maybe you can teach Mii children about school subjects while they're growing up on your island.
Conclusion
And these are all of the new features that I'd love to see in the next Tomodachi Life if it ever happens! Anything you agree with or disagree with? Did I leave anything out? Do you want another Tomodachi Life? Does anything sound too much like wishful thinking? Comment your thoughts below!
